From Seattle, or points south (map below)
Go east on I-90. Take Exit 22 (Preston-Fall City).
Turn left, back over the Freeway, then take a right turn to, and through, the
tiny town of Preston (don't exceed the speed limit of 25 MPH). Keep on the
winding road for about 4 miles to "downtown" Fall City. You will come to a
stop at a "T" in the center of town. SR 202 (the Redmond-Fall City Road)
comes in from your left, and the Colonial Inn is on your right. At the
stop sign, you will be facing a bridge over the Snoqualmie River.
Cross the bridge, and take a left immediately
afterwards (i.e., don't keep right on Hwy 202 toward Snoqualmie Falls).
This puts you (briefly) on the Fall City - Carnation - Duvall Road (SR203).
Follow SR203 a short distance and turn left onto Neal Road.
Neal Road heads into a small Park with a ball field,
and horse track. Follow Neal Road as it winds in a northerly direction for
9/10 miles. After passing the farm house and out buildings of Fall City
Organic Farm on your right, the road bends 90 degrees right. Just after
making that turn look to the left for the entrance to a farm field. You
should see cars, people with dogs, and possibly a step ladder in the
middle of the field.
There is a limited amount of parking on the field.
If all spots are taken, park along the west side of Neal road. Come on in
the gate, and look for the "field secretary's table" where you can check
in (fill out the release form, pay your field use and running fees, and
get your dog(s) registered to run). Registration begins at the announced
time with the expectation that the first dog will be on the line an hour
later. After check-in, the running order will be set-up by a
Club officer, usually Carol Chittum. For expediency sake, dogs belonging
to field committee volunteers and other Club Members usually run first.
From the Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Bellevue
area
Take I-520 east to the light where it intersects the
Redmond - Fall City Road, (SR 202) eastbound. Go right (east) and follow
SR 202 until you get to Fall City (about 15 miles). From this direction,
the Colonial Inn will be more or less in front of you, and you will take a
left over the Snoqualmie River Bridge. After that, the directions are as
above.
Travelers coming from the north may choose to
turn off I-5 on Highway 2, then head south at Monroe onto SR 203. It may
not be any shorter, mileage-wise, but it avoids Seattle traffic. In
that case, go south on SR 203 past Duvall and Carnation, and take a right
onto the northerly entrance to Neal Road. Look for it shortly after
crossing over a bridge a bit south of Carnation. Go south along Neal Road
for about a mile and a half and look for the practice field on your right.
