This seminar, led by three of the most acclaimed lure operators in this sport, will cover all you need to know about lure operating and the latest in equipment, even if you never intend to operate yourself. This seminar will enlighten you and give you a new and more educated appreciation of this most critical task whether you are a "newbie" or an "old hand" in the sport. A flyer and registration form is included in the September premium list, and also available as an individual flyer on the calendar page.

Here is a rare opportunity to complete your Hound's Junior Courser title in one day. For the fourth year, Cascade Coursing Club is hosting back-to-back JC tests on August 15 on the south field of the Enumclaw Fairground, in conjunction with Olympic Kennel Club.
The judges are Nancy Aiken OR (am Test) and Susan Fegan WA (pm Test). The lure operator is Nicklas Pisias, Corvallis OR.
Rolling roll call and inspection beginning at 8.30 am. The first JC test will conclude at 12.00, followed by all breed Fun Runs, see below.
The second JC test rolling roll call will begin at 12.30 and this next bit is essential. While exhibitors may enter both JC tests at the same time in the morning, they must pass inspection separately for each trial.
JC test entry fee $25 for first Hound, $23 for additional Hounds with identical ownership and kenneling. Same fees for pre-entry or Day of Test.
CCC will make every attempt to facilitate that JC entrants will be accommodated with regard to their conformation show times., but it is also the responsibility of each entrant to make an effort to be ready when their hound is called to the line.
Fun Runs will be $4.00 each, straights only, available to all breeds, and but the duration may be limited by CCC depending on the JC Test time requirements. CCC will require that each Fun Run dog owner fill out a hold-harmless form when they pay.
Fun Run dog owners must arrange for their own person to release or slip their dog and a separate lead for catching their dog. It is strongly advised that the Fun Run dogs have a good recall (come when called), and that owners come equipped with yummy treats for good behavior.
See you on the field!

We did it!
The AKC National Lure Coursing Championship was an unqualified success, and all CCC members wish to publicly thank everyone who helped in any way for making that statement possible. For the "official" AKC report and some great photos, visit the AKC's website.
Additionally, for all photographic coverage our official Photographers were Creative Indulgence. In addition to Prelims and Finals on Field B both days, they shot all runoffs, Sunday Bests of Breed runs and the Best of Event runs. All the above can be found on their web page.
Additional coverage was by Skatecreek Photography. They shot both Prelims and Finals, both days on Field A.
From the beautiful September weather, to the participation of the Snoqualmie Nation tribal members, to the fabulous running/excellent lure operating, wonderful dinner and exciting conclusion, each moment was more golden and memorable than the preceding one. We had hounds from New York, Ohio, Florida, Texas, the Dakotas, Colorado, New Mexico, California, and of course Oregon and Washington. In my memory there have been few if any NLCCs which were truly this "national" with North, South, East and West, all represented!
The list of all those who helped is long but each person deserves special mention. So here goes.....
Our judges, Kathy Nelson, Greg Ward, Donna Richards and Charles Roberts. Our Lure Operators and Equipment gurus: Larry Richards, Dave Hayek, Nick Pisias, Bill Martin, Rich Timfichuk. Sue Pisias who orchestrated the Huntmaster, Paddock Master and Clerk scheduling brilliantly! Huntmasters: Kathy Thompson, Valerie King, Debbie Peterson, Terry Sayre, Dianne Kroll, Cyndy Israel. Paddock Masters: Linda Carlson, Deb Vondettii, Sandi Anderson, Holly Simon, Jane Stevens, Lorrain Abel, Celeste Carter, Alan MacLean. Inspectors: Head, Christy Maxfield, Lyndell Anderson, Sandi Anderson, Linda Carlson, Sue Pisias, Celeste Carter, Nancy MacLean, Anne Ericson, Carmen Davis. Clerks: Pam Heeke, Sandi Anderson.Christy Maxfield, Lorrain Abel, Judy Lange, Nancy MacLean, Carmen Davis.
Parking Chair, Linda Carson, ably and efficiently helped by April Lalande, Frank Herald and Harvey Van Stuck. Ways and Means, Deb Vondettii with ticket sales handled marvelously by Nancy Doherty, Anne Ericson, LJ O'Neill, Elisabeth Boonin and Sharon Bennett. Judges' Hospitality, Alan and Nancy MacLean, Sandi Anderson and Pam Heeke. Judges' Dinner: Deb Vondettii, assisted by Lynda and James Hicks, Meg Penner, Nancy MacLean and Roger Vondettii. Our very convincing auctioneer was the inimitable Sue Pisias! Roger Vondettii kept the cooling pools fresh and clean for hot and tired paws, and Katherine Penner and Matthew Abel were my junior "right hand men"both in field chores and helping me pass out ribbons and awards. My friends Christy, Deb, Celeste and Elisabeth made sure my own dogs were walked, dressed and looked after carefully so I didn't have to worry about them.
We can all be grateful for the efforts of Ron Crouch, the wonderful farmer who tended and mowed the field all summer in preparation, and for the Meadowbrook board for allowing us the use of this historic and beautiful site.
Special thanks to Ray Mullen, Tribal Drum Bearer and Story Teller of the Snoqualmie Tribe who with his apprentice Jesse Lucas so enriched the opening ceremonies with the Blessing of the Hounds, and for Ray whose telling of the legend of Mt. Si so enchanted the attendees of the Judges' Dinner.
We can never adequately thank Donna and Larry Richards and Robin Horner all of Carolina Lure Coursing Society, and of course our fantastic secretary Audrey Silverstein whose lightning-quick efficiency with the paperwork, before, during and after the event made everything simply flow. Bob Mason of the AKC was a steady support through the whole preparation process. We are grateful for his friendship.
Personally, I am so proud of my fellow members of this "Little Engine that Could," the Cascade Coursing Club. and all our friends who contributed in ways large and small to this wonderful NLCC.
We did it!
